Travelling the Crowsnest Highway

Sparwood, British
Columbia
Sparwood is located along Highway 3 on the B.C. side of the borders between Alberta and British Columbia. This is
another area of the province that is an outdoor person’s dreams come true. Hiking, biking, camping, fishing and all
terrain vehicles welcomes visitors during the spring, summer and fall seasons. When the winter months descend, the
area transforms into an offering of skiing, snowshoeing and snow mobile trails. An abundance of wildlife and
natural scenery is there year round for the enjoyment of everyone.
This is a mining town that advertises itself, among other things, as the home of the Terex Titan. This gigantic
green truck was once deemed the largest in the world and has been photographed, thousands of times.
You can’t miss this massive vehicle as it sits in the parking lot of their tourist information building and is
easily seen from Highway 3.
After stopping to stretch our legs and have a snack from the little coffee place at the edge of the parking lot, we
were on our way, once more.
